ACID/ALKALINE-Get Your Greens On-
Here’s a salad you can make for under $2 a serving! This is a great Alkalizing salad. An Alkaline environment in the body means that the body is functioning efficiently and that disease and cancer cannot grow in this environment. Diets high in Acidity cause the body to over absorb precious minerals, cause fatigue, restlessness, imbalance of yeast (LADIES!!!), headaches, blood sugar imbalances, digestive problems… You get the picture.
This subject is detailed and complex, but here’s what you need to know-
The Acid/Alkaline Scale runs from 0-14
7 is neutral
Anything below 7 is Acidic
Anything above 7 is Alkaline
Ideally you want the body to be around a 7.35-.7.45 (Alkaline). You can create this environment in the body by eating a majority of Alkalizing foods. Check out what they are here!

Here’s the catch, once you consume something acidic (think: Coffee, Processed Foods, Bread, Meat) It take 3 times the amount of alkalizing food to rebalance the body.
Kick Off Your Alkalinity Diet With This:
If you have been feeling fatigued try adding more Alkaline foods into your diet!
I made this salad tonight, it is one of my favorite combinations! You can mix up the veggies and store your dressing separately and take a fresh, awesome salad to work!
Ingredients:
Fresh Spinach
Fresh Kale
Organic Carrots
Cabbage
Tomatoes
Squash ( If preferred, you can flash cook in skillet w/ sea salt and black pepper)
Chia Seeds
Red Pepper Flakes
Sea Salt
Dressing:
Apple Cider Vinegar
Lime
Olive Oil
*Chop all veggies then lightly drizzle Olive Oil over the greens, massage the olive oil into the greens (this is specifically important to do with the Kale. It breaks down the fibrous part of the leaf and makes it more palatable)
*After all veggies have been tossed and massaged with Olive Oil (They will have a slight shine to them), add 1 cap full of Apple Cider Vinegar (can add more depending on the size of salad then squeeze half of a lime. Make sure the salad is well mixed and tossed with all dressing ingredients.
*Sprinkle top with Sea Salt, Red Pepper Flakes and Chia Seeds

Today I am drinking my fave Kombucha (pretending it is a gluten-filled beer!) and sitting outside enjoying the weather. The Multi-Green is my fave- it is sharp, light and crisp with an after taste of crackers (which sounds disgusting but I LOVE IT!) Probiotics and enzymes  (way better than a beer!) Check out the health benefits of Kombucha and its history here!

I had a lovely night celebrating my 26th! (omagah) birthday! Here is a pic of the matriarch (My gma) and my pops!

A Lunch So Good-
Here is my how-to guide on how to lunch so well, you won’t even remember that dairy, gluten or meat even exist-
Step 1- You need a GREAT GLUTEN-FREE BREAD. This step cannot be skipped because it will ruin your entire sandwich. I have obsessed over this bread in a few posts, but in case you forgot I am in love with FOOD FOR LIFE . (My fave is the Brown Rice Bread) Enjoy it Best Tip: Keep it in the freezer and toast (twice) when ready to chomp.
Step 2- A GREAT SPREAD. Get something good to put on your bread, maybe make a pesto or use mustard, but I like to use VEGANAISE. Also, don’t forget to season it! I like to add Seasalt, Cayenne Pepper and Lime Pepper to mine.
Step 3- Put SOME GOOD FOOD ON IT! I go for something green, something pickled, something creamy and something crunchy. (AND of course I am covering it in Chia Seeds, my other obsession)
Side note: Do you love cheese? I suggest grabbing the Lisanatti Foods Almond Cheese next time you’re out grocery shopping. I always get the Jalapeno Jack Style.  You might be freaked out at first but this cheese tastes like a pepper jack version of string cheese and  I think it is delish. You can get less expensive soy cheeses, but soy promotes the production of estrogen which increases menstrual cramps, so I don’t eat that!!!!!!!!!!!!
I paired my sandwich with some Blue DIamond Nut Thins (They are gluten-free and super good and come in a lot of great flavors!)
*What I ate: Food For Life Brown Rice Bread, Veganaise Spread, Arugula, Fresh Avocado, Shredded Carrot, Vlassic Sandwich Pickles, Lisanatti Jalapeno Jack Almond Cheese, Sweet Onion. Lightly dusted with Chia Seeds, Cayenne Pepper and Lime Pepper.

Lately, I have been craving ice cold smoothies. With the temps over 100 degrees, I NEED SOMETHING COLD AND DELICIOUS TO DRINK!!!!!! You can add one or all of these ingredients to your fave smoothie to give it an extra healthy kick! Great way to get good things into your diet! Your skin, hair and energy levels will thank you!

Pardon the lack of posting I have just been paddle boarding, sweating and eating great things! (like the smoothie pictured that I just drank!)
I like this smoothie because it is light but still creamy and just the right amount of sweet and spicy.  Spice up your average smoothie with some of these fun super foods and ingredients.
Superfood Smoothie: 2 servings
2 Frozen Bananas- High in Fiber & Potassium
1 cup Frozen Spinach- High in Flavanoids (cancer preventative), Fiber, great for skin as it is high vitamin A, moisture retention, high in Vitamin K which equals healthy nervous system. (fun tip: you don’t taste spinach at all when juiced or added into a smoothie with other ingredients!)
3/4 cup Frozen Blueberries- Super! super! High in Antioxies, the Anthocyanin neutralizes free radicals in system.
2 tablespoons Goji Berries-The anti-aging super food!!!!! Contains Polysaccharides (stimulates Human Growth Hormone, which controls the aging control system in our body) Also has a high ORAC Value which prevents oxidation which preserve the cells in the body. Tip: OKC FRIENDS: These are generally pretty expensive but the Asian Market (with the palm trees) sells bags of these near the registers for like 3 dollars!
1.5 tablespoons Spirulina Powder- This is an Algae Superfood! High in protein, and  omegas. Offers the 2nd highest concentration behinds mother’s milk of the Omega 6 Fatty Acid which = healthy skin and hair, alkalizing! , and so many other amazing things!
2 small Thai Chilis (if sensitive to spicy, start with one)- Anti-inflammatory, great for circulation and digestion.
2 tablespoons Chia Seeds- great hydrator, high in Omegas, high in essential nutrients and an energizer!
Rice Milk (creamier) as needed or Coconut Water (lighter taste and Potassium and Electrolyte replenisher)

Headstand it up!

winter time can sometimes bring winter blues
Here are my own personal tips to raise your vibration:
set goals: personal, professional , fitness both short and long term (10 years in future where do you see yourself?)
smile more often
laugh (even if it isn’t funny… you still feel good after- try it!)
eat foods that get their energy (prana) from the sun.
release shame and release the past. You are worth it. let yourself start fresh.
for every negative thing you hear/think/say balance it with a conscious positive statement. Language is powerful. speak positively and you will draw positive things to you.
don’t become the victim of your own bad mood. The reason it stays is because you allow it to.
love on your pets. Animals are negative energy neutralizers.
interact with something that is alive. ie: not your fave tumblrs, tv shows or facebook. Interacting with living things (plants, pets, people) allows for an exchange in energies rather than than something “un-alive”- which absorbs all of your energy. (ever wonder why you are so tired after a long days work of staring at the computer?)
stop viewing everything through the lense of your instagram. let an interesting/beautiful/funny moment be what it is, and allow it to pass. This helps to keep you present.
